"Darkness Falls" is the fourth studio album from Doors To No Where, a trio from Santa Cruz, California.
For fans of Fu Manchu and Kyuss, but mixed with classic Grunge such as Alice In Chains and Nirvana. A little bit of Black Sabbath. But something very unique and totally California.
"From masterblaster-punk opener “Lie, Lie, Lie” through the early-Alice in Chains-style grunge chug of “Fade” and the classic metal epic tension in near-eight-minute finale “Darkness Falls,” the record runs a gamut of styles in a mere 31 minutes, finding a post-hardcore kind of heavy rock melody in “Worship the Machine” before the two-minute “Got Mine” shoves and sprints in post-Songs for the Deaf careening fashion. The trio don’t stay in any one place much longer than to leave a boot print as they’re off to the next thing, but there’s a consistency between “Fade” and “New Monster,” as vocals, tonal thickness and production/songwriting draw the release together as a whole. The succession of jabs, between the Goatsnake-ing groove of “Policy” and the finishing surge in “Who Died” and the rest of what surrounds becomes something of a consistency in itself, and the album is stronger for that." Featuring Marc Lewis (Guitars/Vocals), Pete Testorff (Drums) and Marc Prefontaine (Bass). Doors To No Where have been making music since 2010. Their sound is heavily influenced by Santa Cruz and the local beauty it offers along with the rich history of music. Doors To No Where have been called a stoner rock band but also touch on elements of punk, doom, metal and even grunge.
Growing up on a skateboard and surfing has played a huge part on the influences of the sounds Doors To No Where like to include.
The band has toured in and been honored to share the stage with bands like, Mondo Generator, Fatso Jetson, Fu Manchu, The Melvins and many more.
Doors To No Where will be releasing “Darkness Falls” via Desert Records on May 21st 2021. The fourth studio album features eight tracks and a special guest appearance from Bob Balch (Fu Manchu). Staying true to their roots, “Darkness Falls” is a combination of desert rock and punk influences. The band tracked and recorded the album in the unusual quarantine times of Covid-19.

I love how it's rock and is full with witchy vibes and sounds like 70's rock. At 1st bought just digital album although I wanted to buy it in vinyl. Fixed it now! Way too many good songs to choose just one of them, album is full of them. trushuks

Red Mesa play the sound of the Desert in their own unique way. Gathering inspiration, and styles morphing along the way. Seeds of Americana are sown. Sludgy riffs and desert winds blown. Mescal rites and biker bar fights!! If you thought the desert was Jim Morrison or Josh Homme, think again. The stoned psych sound of the high desert biker blues will obliterate your perceptions!! I dig the bluesy riffs and the husky vocals. Reminds me of the golden age of classic rock, evoking the likes of Aerosmith, Guns n Roses, The Doors, and Led Zeppelin. The lyrics are vivid depictions of the surreal New Mexican landscape. This album just gets heavier and harder as it goes on! undeadgoathead
